I am a receational runner and an outdoorsman. I believe that in order to fully enjoy my hobbies I need to be in good shape and have a healthy lifestyle.

Today was the first run of the new year. I am now logging my first miles of 2015. This year I hope to run over 300 miles. It will be double what I ran in 2014. I feel good the run this morning went really well. This year I hope to enter a few short races and hopefully a marathon.

This morning I deceided to run hills on the treadmill instead of level to work out some different muscle fibers. My shins didn't hurt at all doing this. I think that this may be a way for me to help build up those muscles so that they don't hurt when I ran. My run lasted 15 minutes and felt really good.

I had a great run on the treadmill this morning. I ran at a steady 5.5 mhp pace for 20 minutes and then did one intervals of 7.8 mph for aout 16 minutes and then ended with a nice 5.5 mph pace to cool down.

When I went to bed last night I was really excited to wake up this morning and start training for a half marathon comming up this August. Unfortunatly, I woke up with a pain in my gut. I was going to run three miles this morning, but when I got running, my side hurt bad enough that I just went 1.63 miles. In the evening when I was feeling a little better I went for another run near home that was 1.51 miles long. So I did end up getting my milage in but it wasn't in one run. I hope I am feeling better tomorrow so that I can get back in the swing of things.

So I had kind of a weird day today. I wanted to only go 5 miles, but I ended up gong 6.47. I started the day on the treadmill- big mistake. I had to cut my run way short because it was driving me crazy. I decieded to go up the canyon this evening instead to run my five miles. I ran 1.47 miles this morning with an average pace of 9:56 and I ran five miles this evening with an average pace of 12 minutes per mile. However, the run this evening was uphill halfway.
