I want to get in good enough shape that I could run a half marathon whenever I want without it being a big deal.

I am a receational runner and an outdoorsman. I believe that in order to fully enjoy my hobbies I need to be in good shape and have a healthy lifestyle.
I wore my heartrate monitor. It showed my heart rate being above 200 for the last 2 miles. I hope it wasn't an accurate reading. I didn't feel like my heart was beating that fast.
