I want to get in good enough shape that I could run a half marathon whenever I want without it being a big deal.

I am a receational runner and an outdoorsman. I believe that in order to fully enjoy my hobbies I need to be in good shape and have a healthy lifestyle.
Today I ran a 3.49 mile loop then lifted weights for a while in the fieldhouse. After I lifted I ran back to my appartment (.49 miles.) It was a really good workout today. I ran quite a bit of my run on hills.
